Who am I?
My name is Dave Edwards and this is the web site of my Macintosh consulting business - M4MAC.
I have been involved with Apple's Macintosh computer for over twenty years and have been offering my services as an independent Mac specialist for over fourteen of those years. I have personally owned many of the old Macintosh 'greats' from the original Mac 128k (the one that started it all) through to the original bondi iMac (bondi - yes, that's what they call that greeny blue colour - after that Australian beach).
In the course of my long career in the Mac world, I have sold Macs, peripherals, software, operated an Apple dealership, been the sales manager for an Apple developer, provided support and project services to financial services companies, built a world wide AppleTalk network and shown silver surfers how to buy music online.
What exactly is it that I do?
I solve your problems with your Apple Macintosh (iMac, iBook, PowerBook, G3, G4, G5 towers), your printers, scanners, modems, broadband, wireless (WiFi) network, digital camera, mobile phone, Palm organiser and most of the software you might have installed.
In short, I solve your problem.
I make it work, I make it productive, I make it fun. I show you how to get the most out of your computer investment. I have a sense of humour, patience, compassion for my clients' confusion about how those darn computer things work and on top of that - I even try to speak plain English.
And where do I do it?
At your home or office. I live in South London but do business just about everywhere the tubes, trains and buses venture. So whether you are in Bromley or Mayfair, Tufnell Park or Richmond Park, Clerkenwell or Maidenhead, Dulwich or Kensington - don't be shy - call me.
Yes - Maidenhead. I still service clients I first met when I lived and worked in that town some years ago. I have done business as far away as Bristol and am willing to entertain taking on 'distance' work if it makes commercial sense.
When do I do all this?
My hours of business are easy to follow - any time it is convenient for my clients. Week days, evenings, week ends, bank holidays. The way I look at it? It means I don't have to rush out the door at 8 am on a Monday morning (at least not very often), though I recently made an emergency call in North London at 7 am. I had the problem resolved by 7:45 am - an early start for a valued client.
I provide telephone and email support. I have taken calls at home at 11pm, on Sunday afternoons, Friday nights as well as more conventional times. I have helped a client solve a problem while crossing Northern France in the Eurostar, others while waiting for a Route Master bus or while enjoying a tall latté.
Who are you?
You are a Mac user. You use your Mac for work or play. You might be in an office setting but you could just as easily be at home. Your business might have a substantial number of Macs and include PCs and file servers and gateways or it could be an iMac, a PowerBook and a dial up line in the spare bedroom.
Either way, irrespective of your purpose, size or location, I will solve your problem.
How much do I charge?
Less than you might think. I offer my services via telephone, email and personal visits. My fees can be as low as ten pounds. For complete details, please see my Fees page and also my Terms of Business.
Please email me about your particular Mac issues.
